 Dagli inizi degli anni ’90, l’Allevamento di Casa Garufi si occupa della selezione del Rottweiler, sfruttando il potenziale delle migliori linee di sangue europee e favorendo riproduttori tipici per carattere e morfologia, senza tralasciare aspetti altrettanto importanti come il controllo delle malattie ereditarie. Tra gli obiettivi principali del programma di allevamento di Casa Garufi, vi è la produzione di soggetti perfettamente in standard, con gran temperamento ed esenti dalle più comuni patologie ereditarie.
 Since the early '90s, the Casa Garufi Kennel is engaged in the Rottweiler selection, exploiting the potential of the best European bloodlines and choosing dogs for typical character and morphology, without neglecting the equally important aspects such as control of hereditary diseases. A key objective of the Casa Garufi breeding program is to product dogs in standard, with great temperament and dogs free from common inherited diseases.
Obiettivi di Allevamento
Ogni programma di allevamento che si rispetti deve necessariamente prefiggersi degli obiettivi, il cui raggiungimento è legato alla capacità dell’allevatore nell’utilizzare al meglio gli strumenti a sua disposizione (linee di sangue, riproduttori, sistemi di controllo come test attitudinali e certificati che attestano l’esenzione da malattie ereditarie ecc.). Fin dall’inizio, l’Allevamento di Casa Garufi si è preposto di produrre soggetti superiori alla media per quello che riguarda sia la morfologia che il carattere. Questi due aspetti sono indissolubilmente legati allo Standard di razza, ed è a quest’ultimo che noi facciamo riferimento come misura dei nostri successi. Oggi molti allevamenti europei hanno spostato la loro attenzione esclusivamente sulle esposizioni canine di bellezza e questo ha portato ad un calo qualitativo in termini di funzionalità sia anatomica che caratteriale del Rottweiler moderno. I nostri intenti selettivi vanno oltre quella che viene definita la “moda del momento”, e sono rivolti alla selezione di soggetti estremamente funzionali (di conseguenza il più possibile in standard), attraverso la scelta di riproduttori eccellenti e di linee di sangue che possano garantirci in primis una bassa frequenza di geni deleteri. Il nostro metodo di allevamento si basa su accoppiamenti mirati all’ottenimento e al mantenimento dei requisiti fondamentali per quanto riguarda la salute e ciò avviene attraverso l’analisi delle linee di sangue utilizzate e lo sviluppo di propri ceppi genealogici.
Breeding Goals
Any good breeding program must necessarily aim at targets, whose achievement is linked to the ability of the breeder to use the best tools at his disposal (such as bloodlines, studs, aptitude tests or official certificates for the control of inherited diseases etc.). Since its inception Casa Garufi Kennel has been in charge of producing above average dogs both in the morphology and the character. These two aspects are inextricably linked to the breed standard, and it's on this one that we refer as a measure of our achievements. Today, many European breeders have shifted their attention exclusively on dog shows and this has led to a decline in quality in terms of anatomical and mental characteristics of the modern Rottweiler. Our goals go beyond what is called the "fad" and are aimed at the selection of highly functional dogs, through the choice of excellent studs and bitches and blood lines that can provide primarily a low frequency of deleterious genes. Our breeding method is based on matings aimed the obtaining and maintenance of the basic requirements for health, and this is done through the analysis of blood lines used and the development of own families.
I Riproduttori
I miei riproduttori così come gli stalloni che scelgo per i miei accoppiamenti sono testati per l'HD e l'ED ed hanno conseguito lo ZTP. Riguardo la displasia dell'anca e del gomito, per me è molto importante che i partner che scelgo come futuri genitori siano esenti da entrambe, dato che si tratta di due problemi seri che gravano sulla salute della razza. Inoltre, è importante che possiedano anche lo ZTP, poichè questo certificato attesta che i cani sono aderenti allo standard sia in termini fisici che caratteriali. Generalmente scelgo stalloni che abbiano già prodotto un buon numero di figli, così da stabilire meglio quanto e come essi possano essere compatibili con le mie femmine.
Studs and Bitches
My dogs, as well as the studs that I choose for my matings are tested for HD and ED and have accomplished the ZTP. About the hip and elbow dysplasia, for me it is very important that the partners that I choose as future parents are both free, since are two serious problems that affect the health of the breed. Also, it is important that they achieve the ZTP, as this test certifies that the dogs are adhering to the standard in terms of physical and mental characteristics. Usually I choose studs that have already produced a good number of offsprings in order to establish how best to use them and how much they be compatible with my bitches.
Le Cucciolate
Durante il periodo di gestazione fino al momento del parto, le mie fattrici soggiornano in sale parto predisposte a questo utilizzo. Fornisco loro ambienti confortevoli in modo che non ci sia il rischio che si stressino e di conseguenza ne risentano anche i cuccioli. Queste attenzioni favoriscono inoltre un buon approccio per consentire il corretto sviluppo caratteriale dei cuccioli e il giusto imprinting materno ed ambientale. Non ho mai più di due cucciolate all'anno, perchè ritengo importante seguire ogni cucciolo, aiutando il nuovo proprietario a conoscere meglio il suo cane e prendersene cura adeguatamente.
Litters
During the period of gestation until the time of delivery, my bitches stay in delivery rooms prepared for this use. I provide them with comfortable environments, so that there isn't the risk that they get stressed and then also the puppies are affected. These attentions also allow a good approach to promote a good puppies's temperament development and the right environment and maternal imprinting. I have never more than two litters a year, because I consider it important to follow each puppy, helping the new owner to better understand its dog and how take care of it properly.
Linee di Sangue
Le linee di sangue che utilizzo nel mio programma d'allevamento sono molto note e apprezzate dalla maggior parte degli allevatori italiani ed esteri. Esse racchiudono in loro qualità mentali e fisiche eccezionali e sono costituite da esemplari pluricampioni combinati insieme, nel corso delle generazioni, attraverso una giusta selezione. Queste linee non sono soltanto garanzia di qualità estetiche e mentali dei discendenti, ma presentano probabilità molto scarse di trasmettere malattie ereditarie (esempio: HD, ED).
Bloodlines
The bloodlines that I use in my breeding program are well known and appreciated by most Italians and foreign breeders. These genealogies contain exceptional mental and physical qualities and they consist of multi-champions dogs combine together, over generations, through a proper choice. These lines are not only assurance of physical and mental qualities in the offspring but they also show a very low probability to pass on hereditary diseases (eg: HD, ED).
Allevatore e Proprietario
Dal giorno della consegna in poi, il proprietario del cucciolo potrà sempre contare sull'assistenza e sull'aiuto di gente esperta. Sarò felice di seguirlo nel caso in cui decidesse di intraprendere la carriera agonistica insieme al suo nuovo cane. I cuccioli vengono consegnati dopo i sessanta giorni di età, vaccinati e iscritti ai libri genealogici (con pedigree).
Breeder and Owner
From the day of delivery on, the owner of the puppy can always count on the assistance and the help of skilled people. I will be happy to follow the owner, if he decides to begin a competitive career (work or show) with his new dog. The puppies are consigned after sixty day old, already vaccinated and registered at the E.N.C.I. (with pedigree).
